Your rink is yours, but you’re never on your own. From professional installation to ongoing maintenance and seasonal storage, our team is here to ensure your rink stays in top condition and ready to use whenever you need it. Building a rink mainly for hockey? See our backyard hockey rink page.
An engineered subfloor system accompanied by our master ice builders allows First Line Rinks to install in any location.
With 3 types of maintenance packages, we're here to make sure your rink is groomed and flooded, ready for family & friends.
Once you are finished skating for the winter, relax! Let First Line Rinks dismantle your rink and keep it safe in our storage facility.

A refrigerated rink uses a cooling system to chill the surface under the ice, so the rink holds its temperature instead of relying on cold nights to freeze. Our systems use commercial-grade cooling technology to keep the ice consistent throughout the season.
Yes. Our refrigerated rink systems are built to maintain consistent ice even in temperatures above 10°C. Mild spells, thaws, and sunny afternoons don't have to wipe out your ice the way they would on a natural backyard rink.
Because the ice doesn't depend on the weather, you can start skating earlier in the fall and keep going later into spring than you could with a natural rink. The exact season depends on your location and conditions, and our team can walk you through what to expect for your property.
A natural rink only freezes when the weather cooperates, so the season is short and the ice quality changes from day to day. A refrigerated rink controls the ice temperature itself, which gives you a more reliable surface, fewer lost skating days, and ice that's ready when your family is.
Our engineered subfloor system, paired with our master ice builders, lets us install rinks in almost any backyard location. We'll look at your yard's layout before planning begins so the rink base is built properly for your space.

First Line Rinks & Courts offers seasonal court-to-rink conversions that transform your multi-court surface into a fully functional ice rink for the winter months. Basketball, pickleball, ball hockey, skating and more: your backyard stays active all year long.
Our conversion process is designed to protect your multi-court infrastructure while giving you a high-performance ice surface above it. Custom sport tiles are laid directly under the rink base, with sport-specific line markings, hoops, and netting installed to suit your chosen activities. When winter arrives, the ice rink is installed above the multi-court, and your refrigerated rink is ready to go!
From NHL players to dedicated backyard skaters, our refrigerated rinks deliver reliable ice and real results. Here’s what our clients have to say.
